Liposuction Of The Neck

Excess fat or loose skin in the neck area can develop at any age, whether as a result of mild weight gain or genetics.  Neck liposuction (with or without Platysmoplasty) is a simple and effective procedure that can help create a natural looking neck line in people who have a mild amount of excess fat or loose skin in the neck.

Indications: Localized accumulation of fat, loss or blunting of the neck contour due to heredity or weight gain. Performed under local anesthesia with or without oral/IV sedation in the privacy of the Abboud Plastic Surgery Centre in-office operating room. This procedure is a minimally invasive way to improve the neck contouring by removing sagging fat deposits including the jowls, and excess fat that has blunted the jawline and angles of the neck. The platysmoplasty tightens the muscle in the midline to help sharpen and tighten the neck angle. Both may be performed together or separately.

Procedure: Eliminates excess fat, tightens loose skin, regains definition and youthful contour of the neck. Minimal incisions (3) 4 mms each.

Breast Augmentation

Indications: Bothered by the feeling that breasts are too small. Weight loss has changed the size and shape. Loss of size and firmness after having children. Clothing fits the hips but not the bust line. One breast is noticeably smaller than the other. Self conscious wearing a swim suit or form fitting tops.

The purpose of this surgery is to increase the breast volume by placement of a prosthesis either above or below the pectoralis muscle. A natural look is achieved by placement of an implant that is equal to or slightly larger than the persons breast envelope (diameter). Do not rely on the procedure to provide cleavage. Cleavage is achieved by wearing a bra that pushes the breasts together and up. If the natural nipple position is low or the breast is sagging due to stretched out skin, then a Mastopexy (removing excess skin and repositioning of the nipple) may be required to achieve a natural youthful result. The Mastopexy may be performed in two ways. For description see Mastopexy. Surgery is performed under general anesthesia. Day surgery.

Procedure: Surgical placement of an implant (gel or saline) behind each breast (above or below the muscle) to increase volume and shape

Anesthesia: General

Note: Same Day Surgery

Side Effects: Temporary bruising, swelling, numbness,Permanent scars, Possible permanent loss of nipple sensation,
Possible uneven nipple position

Mastopexy - Breast Lift

Indications: Sagging, loss of shape and firmness after pregnancy and nursing. The force of gravity in combination with loss of skin elasticity. Large areola (darker skin around the nipple). Nipples and areola point downward. The purpose of this surgery is to remove excess skin of the breast and reposition the nipple to a more youthful appearance. This procedure involves separating the skin from the breast tissue, and then pexying (pinning up) the breast tissue with permanent sutures to the chest muscle at an elevated position, then tightening the surrounding skin to lend a more "perky" breast. Depending on the severity of the sag of the breast, this procedure can be performed in two ways.

  1. Periareolar (circumareolar or pursestring) Mastopexy
This is performed when sagging is minimal. The procedure leaves a scar around the areolar only. Surgery is performed under general anesthesia. Day surgery.
  2. Inverted "T" Mastopexy
This procedure is performed when sagging is moderate to severe. This leaves an inverted "T" scar spanning from the bottom of the areola to the breast fold. Surgery is performed under general anesthesia. Day surgery.

Procedure: Raises and reshapes sagging breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning remaining breast tissue and nipples. Large diameter areola is reduced to more normal size.

Anesthesia: small lifts: local or local with sedation, general large lifts: General

Note: Same Day Surgery

Side Effects: Temporary bruising, swelling, numbness,Permanent scars, Possible permanent loss of nipple sensation,
Possible uneven nipple position

Duration of Results: Variable due to gravity, pregnancy, aging and weight changes which will cause new sagging. Results may last longer or be enhanced when breast implants are inserted as part of the procedure. Smaller breasts will have a longer lasting result than large breasts.
