Back of Arm Reduction
(Brachioplasty)
The purpose of this surgery is to remove excess skin and fat at the back of the arm region. This procedure leaves a fine scar spanning from the inside of the elbow to the inner arm pit region. Typically the scar is not visible either from the front or back view when the arms are in the natural hanging position. This procedure may or may not involve liposuction.
Indications
Loose, sagging skin at the back of the arms due to weight loss, heredity, or aging. Clothing doesn't fit well, embarrassed to wear sleeveless tops. Hindrance to exercising.

Removal of excess skin and fat resulting in a more well defined, tightened and contoured arm.

Duration of Results
Many years. Some loosening of the skin will occur with aging and more so if there is a large amount of weight loss prior to the surgery.

Dr. Jeffrey Abboud
Plastic Surgeon
Born and raised in Ottawa, Dr. Jeffrey Abboud is an accomplished plastic surgeon with over 25 years of experience. He graduated medical school at the University of Ottawa in 1987 and then completed his Internship at Memorial University, St. John's Newfoundland. Dr. Abboud completed three years of General Surgery training at Boston University, Boston Massachusetts, and a one-year Plastic Surgery Fellowship in Boston, MA. He went on to complete a two year residency in Plastic Surgery at Medical College of Ohio, Toledo Ohio. From 1995 - 1997, the Beth Israel Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, invited Dr. Abboud to be a Clinical Instructor of Plastic Surgery. During this time he was an active staff member at several hospitals in the Boston area.
In 1997, Dr. Abboud was Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. From 1997 - 2003, Dr. Abboud developed a community based practice in plastic surgery on the South Shore of Boston and worked there until his move to Ottawa in 2003 to establish his current practice. In 2011, Dr. Abboud was recognized by the CPSO (College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario) in the specialty of Plastic Surgery. Having performed over 17,000 Plastic Surgery procedures, Dr. Abboud draws from his high level of training and vast surgical experience to best serve his patients.
